Advanced Motorcycling Links

I helped found London Advanced Motorcyclists way back in 1985... (sorry!)

Hints and tips on how to ride motorcycles.
Look for Hoddy's ones.

We taught Ben "Darth" Lovejoy to ride. Now he does this. We're SO SORRY...

Bruce - who organises TrackTamers trackdays is a member of LAM:

If you look at the pics. page, you'll see a bit about off roading (and the injuries it can cause).

However - off roading is a Grreat way to improve your road riding skills.

LAM hires a moto-cross track a few times a year and those with off road 'bikes let people learn what rear wheel steering etc. is all about.

Here's a "microsite" about offroading and where we meet and how we do it etc....

The Nurburgring (with an Umlaut on the U) Some call it the Green Hell. To us, it is - errr - something very nice but green.
Click on the logo below to see a map of the Nordschleiffe which gives some idea why the 13 mile, 72 bend 'Ring is a wee bit better than any other racetrack in the world.
You see? There are three whole villages inside the circuit. There's (much) more about the 'Ring on Ben Lovejoy's pages.

"Ordinary" Motorcycling Links

I sometimes appear on Ixion, the UK motorcycle chat group [aka. "Virtual 'bike club"] for people too clever for UKRM...

GENERAL 'BIKE LINKS

Motorcyclists can't navigate - this site helps:

Helmets are compulsory in the UK. This site has cheap ones:
The Helmet Shop
M&P Accessories are from Wales. Don't hold that against them. They sell some good gear at reasonable prices. And they do next day delivery.

I'm buying $800 worth of motorcycle clothing off the Internet - without trying it on, even.
Am I crazy? You judge:

 Computer Links

Look - mine's a Power Macintosh - either you understand, in which case you will probably already own a Mac - or you don't, in which case nothing I say will make any sense (so go and edit an .ini file or try to de-install Internet Explorer).
Actually, my current ISP uses IE for Mac, and I counted over 120 "hidden" files it installed. Luckily, on the Mac, I can find 'em all!

However, all computer users should use the site below - it has more shareware than you can shake a stick at.

Work - I work in Market Research

The OED calls market research "the study of buyers of one's goods".
I call it indoor work with no heavy lifting and the odd chance to skive off early.
Sorry, that should read:
"A profession which, by spanning the gap between consumer and supplier, greatly enhances the value of goods and services to both parties".
{It is the ability to write things like that that got me the job}.

Here is a link to the Market Research Society (to prove it's a REAL profession).
As a full Member of thus August body (what do they do for the other 11 months?) I can put MMRS after my name.
This makes it sound like I'm drunk or stricken with doubt: "Hi! I'm Hoddy Hodson Mmrs.", so I don't bother.
If you happen to want a Clientside Market Research specialist or just to know how one gets to be one, my C.V. is just here. It may not be the very latest version, however.
